Manuel started practicing fencing when he was 7 years old.
Among his accomplishments are:

  • Member of the Argentinian National Team, 1970, 1971

  • Bronze Medal, Individual 14 & under Foil, Argentina's National Cup
  • Silver Medal, Foil, Individual 21 & under Foil, (he was 12 years old), Argentina's National Cup
  • Bronze Medal, Foil, Individual 21 & under Foil, South-American Games, Uruguay
  • Silver Medal, Individual 21& under Foil,
    South-American Games, Brazil

Recent accomplishments are:

  • 7th place, Foil, veteran, USFA National Championships, March 2010
  • 3rd place, Foil, veteran, USFA Summer National Championship, 2009
  • 5th place, Foil, veteran, USFA Summer National Championship, 2008
  • 3rd place, Foil, veteran, USFA National Championships, 2006
  • 5th place, Foil, veteran, USFA National Championships, 2005
  • Gold Medal, Foil, veteran, Sunshine State Games, 2005

-Ranked #5 in USA 2006-2007 in Men's Foil Vets, #7 in USA 2009-2010.

 

Head Coach Rafael Suárez, has a long history of competitions.

  • 2 times Bronze Medal Pan-American Games Individual and Team

  • 3 times Silver Medal Centro American Games Individual, and Team

  • 3 times Gold Medal in Pan-American Games Individual, and Team

  • Bronze Medal Senior World Cup 1997 Venezuela


  • 5th in Senior World Cup 2000 Denmark
  • 5th World Championship Cadet, Portugal
  • 8th World Championship Junior, Austria
  • Gold Medal Junior World Cup Hamburg

Maria started fencing when she was 9 years old and quickly became a member of the Hungarian National team. Later she came to the United States on a fencing scholarship to the University of Notre Dame.

    (i.e., Bochum, Germany; Ethampes, France)

  • NCAA Div 1 Champion (Notre Dame team, 1994)
  • Captain of the Notre Dame Fencing Team, MVP (1995)
  • NCAA Div1 Foil Runner-up (individual 1995), First Team All-American, Nominated for Scholastica-All America,
    Voted MVP of the 1995 NCAAs by Coaches and Fencers
  • NAC Div 1 Final (1995)
  • 2 times Mid-West Champion (1994, 1995)
  • Penn State Open Champion (1995)
  • Notre Dame Record Holder
    (98% career winning percentage)
  • Sunshine State Champion (1998 women and open foil)
